What stories are you familiar with? Do you know the story of the Oak King and Holly King? Or Amadioha?
Have a look at this list of mythologies - pick one you don’t know. Read and research. Find a myth that sparks interest. Write a story that is based on that myth or use it to jump start a story of your own.
If you are writing memoir - what does the myth remind you of in your own life? Write that story.
